I hand-wrote the following, without pausing, just a little while ago.

Pen in my right hand, scribbling away non-stop, and a delicious cup of homemade coffee in my left hand.

---

There is a slight sourness to this coffee, but overall it's quite smooth, much more so than past cups I've made.

I am inspired by how Kiana can put into words the things that matter most to her.

When she tells me about the things she writes in her journal, I am floored by how meaningful and important those things are.

The way she pours her heart out onto the page is poetic.

Meanwhile, I'm over here sometimes half falling asleep and not making sense every other sentence, or rambling on and on because I refuse to let my pen stop.

Like I just did right there.

But this is my practice.

My intention for my practice is not to be thoughtful, considerate, deep, or insightful.

My intention is to be the opposite.

I am here, during these [Flow Writing](https://acmewong.com/flow-writing/) sessions, to keep this pen moving, no matter what.

I strive to keep thoughtfulness away.

I strive to consider my only need, which is to keep this pen moving.

I strive to splash around in the meaningless shallows and just flow with the tide, maybe catching a wave whenever my angle and timing and position are just right.

I am here to practice unconditional creating.

The only condition for this unconditional practice is that I keep creating without interruption of any kind.

I can't stop or pause or think or mentally edit anything, I just grab a hold of a stream of thought and pull and pull and pull until I approach the end of it and reach out for the next most accessible or fun feeling stream of thought and repeat over and over and over.

This writing is not about the words that get written.

This practice is about what is happening for me and only me in my inner world, as I learn, every day, more and more, how to ignore my inner judge, my hypercritical OCD mental editor that relentlessly overthinks every word choice, overthinks the purpose of what I'm writing, over thinks if I'm writing run-on sentences, and worries if others will read it and judge it and laugh at me and also worries about whether or not I will get a positive return on this investment of time and energy or if I am just wasting my time.

Shhhh...

It's okay.

For this writing practice, let's just play.

Let's just breathe and learn to create space, to flow, to ride, to crash, to get back up and keep going.

This is freedom.

This is our inner tyrant learning to put his Warhammer down so that he can come out and play pretend with us.

It's not so serious.

We can write no wrong when we write to write, for literally no other reason whatsoever than to just get better at writing, flowing, letting go, twisting, turning, and pouring out our hearts.

---

That's where my handwritten writing ended and now it's just you and me and these keys on the keyboard.

Listen, we live in an era where consumption has never been higher.

When consumption is at its peak, then the people who create will prosper.

The easiest entry point to creating, to overcoming mental creative blocks, is to just write.

Begin flexing your idea muscle.

Practice allowing yourself to flow.

You will face your inner critic.

You will cringe at what comes out of you,.

It's inevitable.

Why?

Because those are the same forces keeping everyone locked in a cycle of mass-consumption.

Those are the chains we all must break if we want to wield creative power.

There is a gravitational pull toward consumption that we must break free from if we wish to be one of the few creatives alive today.

The creative in most people is dormant and may never come out to create again.

Don't let that be you.

Take action today.

You don't have to write a book, but you can write a page.

The page you write doesn't have to make sense, but you can do it every day.

You can do it 100 days in a row, or maybe even 1,000 days in a row, and you could find yourself with 1,000 pages of nonsense.

That won't happen though, because the Muse can't help but to swoop in and co-create with someone who is showing up every day to create something.

Anything.

By practicing flow writing, or "IDGAF writing," we will, without meaning to, eventually begin writing from a deeper and more meaningful place.

We will find our voice and we will find our place.

Time is running out.

Consumerism is taking over.

For the love of the Muse, create something today!

The Muse wants

YOU

to make something today!

Anything!

...and to make something else tomorrow and the day after and on and on and on.

I'm stoked to be on this journey with you.

Let's create a new world together.

See ya tomorrow,
Acme
