"And there's your Four Cheese Chicken Penne. Can I get you two anything else?" the Orangebee's waitress asked.

"Not that I can think of! Thanks so much!" Nader replied cheerfully. As she walked away, he looked over at his best friend Raphael, who clasped his hands together and waited for Nader to do the same.

*Oh, right!* Nader quickly clasped his hands and bowed his head.

"Bless us Oh Lord and these thy gifts which we are about to receive from thy bounty through Christ Our Lord Amen." Raphael recited the prayer in a single swift breath.

And the feast began.

Nader wasn't religious himself, but he considered himself spiritual and appreciated his friend including him in this prayer every meal they shared.

Raphael took a big bite of his Siesta Lime Chicken and let out a muffled "Omigosh."

"Happy birthday, dude! What does twenty-one feel like? Knees starting to hurt yet?" Nader joked.

"Mmph," Raphael grunted, taking another bite, savoring it like it was his lola's famous adobo. "So good," he said, hypnotized by his food.

"You should get a beer, dude! Don't hold back cuz of me. Just three weeks until I'm old, wrinkly, and *legally* able to drink, like you. Then, we go bar hoppin'!" Nader acted drunk, hiccuping as he grabbed his glass of strawberry lemonade.

Raphael did the same. Anyone watching would have seen two dorks acting like they were totally hammered. They played out the bit and laughed uncontrollably.

"Oof . . ." Raphael winced as he reached down to massage his gut. "I gotta poop. Which way's the bathroom?"

"The *restroom*? They don't have *baths* here. It's around the corner, that way." Nader pointed as his friend got up.

Continuing his meal, Nader was hit by an early-onset food coma that threatened to take him. *What do they put in this cheesy mess, horse tranquilizer?* His eyelids were heavy. He tried to shake it off with a few exaggerated blinks. He took a sip of his water this time, but as he lowered the cloudy plastic glass from his face, he met Raphael's wide eyes.

*PFFFFTT*! Nader sprayed water everywhere. Raphael, who was suddenly back in his seat in front of him, took a direct hit from the shower of spittle.

"Eww! Dude, gross." Raphael used his cloth napkin to wipe off as much as he could.

"Dude, what the hell?! How did I not see or hear you?" Nader hissed.

"Dude . . ." There was wonder in Raphael's voice, and he smiled the biggest smile Nader had ever seen.

"Raf?!"

"Dude. I think I can stop time," Raphael whispered.

"Bullshit, dude. Prov—" Nader began, staring his friend dead in the eye, but in that instant, Raphael was gone.

Nader felt someone watching him and, out of the corner of his eye, saw his best friend lounging at an empty table across the aisle, waving at him.

"What the fu—"

Raphael snapped back to his seat. "Nah, my knees are feeling just fine," he said with a smirk.
